Like many Ron Paul supporters I have fallen right in love with his message of liberty and his vision of limited government, but until now we have only had his almost perfect pro-constitutional voting record and his attractive campaign messages to look at while sharing his message with friends and family. Ron Paul, a Republican Congressman from Texas, has now introduced legislation, H.R. 2755, to abolish the Federal Reserve, a private central banking cartel which has effectively lowered the purchasing power of our dollar since it's illegal founding in 1913 under the presidency of Woodrow Wilson. This is not the first time Dr. Paul has introduced such legislation. On July 17, 2003 Dr. Paul introduced legislation H.R. 2778 under the same name, Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act, which did not progress past it's referral to the Committee on Financial Services. The text of the new bill is not yet available on the link provided, but will likely have similarities to the older bill by the same name of which the text is available.

John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873), a British philosopher, a political economist, and a Member of Parliament among other notable roles, was a major contributor to the current western understanding of liberty. Mill's book: On Liberty, published in 1859, was his most popular work on the topic. A platform for Mill's work could certainly be: "Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign".
